We know that you understand the value of preserving and protecting the architecture, landscapes, artifacts and personal stories that provide reference points to understanding Connecticut’s unique history – a common history that belongs to all of us.

As stewards of 12 historically significant properties statewide we have led hundreds of inspiring and engaging educational programs throughout the years. Our programs provide history experiences – that span three centuries and make history come alive – for not only families and tourists, but also for more than 3,500 students each year. We are committed to presenting history in new ways and are leading the way toward providing lifelong learning opportunities for people of all ages.

We are also facing challenges. Many museum organizations are struggling to maintain their high-level of programming and we are not immune. In addition, we strive every year to balance the need of caring for our collections, restoring and preserving our buildings, meeting rising energy costs and reaching out to new audiences. The need for increased funding from all sources – government, corporate and private – is the single biggest challenge facing the museum field today.

The good news is that your gift really does make a difference. Your membership or direct contribution to Connecticut Landmarks will go immediately to support educational programming, facilities and collections preservation, and will provide access to the rich cultural heritage contained within our museums.
