School & Youth Groups
At Connecticut Landmark’s we offer a variety of age appropriate tour-based activities at four of our historic sites. Our programs are curriculum-based for schools and provide a hands-on educational experience. General Policies
All school and youth groups must make a confirmed reservation. We recommend scheduling your visit at least two weeks in advance.
School tours are scheduled Monday-Friday with flexible starting times; youth programs are scheduled Monday-Saturday. Programs at the Hale Homestead and Hempsted Houses are not available January-March.
Admission
Unless noted otherwise, all house or walking tours cost $5 per student and include 1 hands-on activity. Additional activities may be scheduled for $2 per activity. There is a minimum cost of $30 for any scheduled museum tour and program
Chaperones
1 adult chaperone is required for every 10 students. Chaperones are admitted free of charge. Additional accompanying adults, beyond the 1:10 chaperone-student ratio, are charged regular museum admission.
Deposit/Cancellation Policy
A deposit in the amount of 50% of your group’s expected total is required to secure a reservation. This deposit is non-refundable if the visit is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice.
Bad Weather Policy
Cancellation caused by inclement weather (snow/ice) must be made by 9 a.m. on the day of the visit; such cancellation will be rescheduled for a later date. CTL will assume cancellation of the program should the scheduled school district close.
Lunch
Some of our properties have space available for lunch. Please inquire when making your reservation.
Scholarship Opportunities
Currently, Connecticut Landmarks is offering scholarships for admission and transportation on a first-come first serve basis for two of our sites.
Adult Groups
The historic sites of Connecticut Landmarks provide a glimpse into four centuries of history! Groups may book programs at one or more of our sites. Our sites offer a variety of experiences, including focused house tours, seasonal programs, neighborhood walking tours, landscape tours, and hands-on workshops like hearth cooking. We offer a discounted admission price of $5 per person for groups over 10 people. Additional activities may be added for an additional fee. We look forward to welcoming you to our sites! Guidelines for Group Tours
Please call to arrange your tour at least two weeks (more is preferred) in advance. If your group has special needs, please discuss these with staff while arranging your visit. $50 deposit is required prior to the visit. The balance is required on the day on the visit.
