Thank you for a terrific season!
The 2008 season - Connecticut Landmarks’ inaugural season – was marked with five sensational Spotlight Events spanning May through October. Our members, trustees, visitors and staff came together for a season-long celebration that included great music, lively dancing, heart-stirring patriotism and living history. The 2008 season saw the implementation of Connecticut Landmark’s new name and new brand identity as we introduced our beautiful, new fox logo, designed by Peter Good. We reconnected with old friends and made lots of new ones along the way. The Spotlight Events at each of the 5-core museums saw record attendance and terrific press coverage, and a good time was had by all.
In May, friends gathered at the Butler-McCook House & Garden to launch the season, introduce the new brand identity and honor long-time supporter of CTL, Lee G. Kuckro. In June we celebrated the birthday of our great patriot, Nathan Hale, and in October we raised a new flag at the Homestead to honor the memory of those who have given their lives for our great country.
The hazy and hot July sun didn’t bother the crowd at the Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden as the Litchfield Jazz Festival was much, much hotter! The students from the Litchfield Jazz Camp and Nicole Zuraitis were sensational!
In September we held our Annual Meeting and danced the waltz (despite the pouring rain!) in the magnificent barn at the Phelps-Hatheway House in Suffield. Early October brought a glorious autumn day in New London as we witnessed living history and enjoyed the bounty of the season at the Hempsted Harvest Festival.
Many thanks to all of you who attended and supported our Spotlight Events! Connecticut Landmarks’ future is bright because of you.
